An Ordinary Kid in Extraordinary Times by Roz Liberman follows a young girl’s struggle with the unusual changes and uncertainties attached to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reader is taken through this confusing period of time and learns about the virus itself, the changes it’s created, and the many ways it has altered the lives of families seen through the eyes of the book’s young main character.

With humor, insight, and sensitivity, this lovely book offers an optimistic but honest look at these rather disturbing times while showing the readers the positive side of change and offering them positive ways to increase their self-confidence, sense of security, and comfort during times of uncertainty and instability.

Roz Liberman tutors young people and lives in Frisco, Texas. After hearing the anxiety her students were experiencing related to the coronavirus outbreak, she wanted to do something to help. The main character in An Ordinary Kid in Extraordinary Times is unnamed in hopes that each reader will relate to her more and gain both courage and confidence from her story.
